Accordion Cabinet, 2011 A collaboration with artist Sebastian Neeb The "Accordion Cabinet" is the result of a collaboration between designer Elisa Strozyk and artist Sebastian Neeb. The cabinet consists of a shelf on long legs which is surrounded by a flexible skin. This is made of a combination of veneer wood and textile which can be opened and closed by folding similarly to an accordion. Using this wooden textile allows a free and sculptural form. The "Accordion Cabinet" changes it's appearance and volume depending on being opened or closed. Combining slim legs with a voluminous body the two designers created a piece of furniture with it's very own character, something you can emotionally relate to. With this they aim for a longer lasting relationship between object and user. |
